Application Of Whole-Garment Knitting Technology in Sportswear

      A systematic study was conducted on whole garment knitting technology. Firstly, the characteristics of three types of whole garment knitting processes-warp knitting, weft knitting, and circular knitting-were introduced. The advantages of this technology in seamless structures and zoned designs were analysed. Its applications in sports fitness, sports protection, sports leisure, and smart sportswear were summarised, and the contribution of 3D digital design and artificial intelligence technology to whole garment apparel was explored. The study found that whole garment knitting technology can directly form garments from yarn in a single step, reducing unnecessary sewing processes, saving materials, and simplifying production processes, while greatly improving the fit, functionality, and comfort of sportswear. The integration of digital and intelligent technologies also allows for more precise design and higher production efficiency. In the future, as materials, equipment, and digital technologies continue to converge, whole garment knitting technology will become an important technology driving high-quality development in the sportswear industry.
