Many trendy fabric names on the market are modified structures or blends of basic fibers:
Ice Silk
Essentially ultra-fine modified polyester with silky, cool, drapy texture and better breathability & drying speed than standard polyester. Best for mild summer workouts and sun-protection trousers; low structural support, not fit for high-intensity compression fitness.
Mesh Quick-Dry Fabric
Large open-knit polyester mesh maximizes airflow and heat release. Commonly sewn as panels on backs and underarms, standard for basketball, badminton and other team sports uniforms.
One-Way Moisture Transport Fabric
Dual-layer construction: inner layer draws sweat away from skin, outer layer spreads moisture for fast evaporation, with no reverse dampness back onto the body. Standard gear for high-sweat marathons and trail running.
Bamboo Charcoal Fiber
Blend of polyester infused with bamboo charcoal powder, offering mild odor absorption and antibacterial effects with a soft hand feel, yet inferior to pure polyester in quick-dry capability.
Polypropylene (PP)
The lightest textile fiber with near-zero water absorption and top-tier sweat wicking. Cons: stiff texture, sensitive to high heat and fast aging. Rarely made into full garments, mostly used for thin outdoor quick-dry liner layers.
