In the first half of 2026, chemical fiber enterprises in Fujian and Zhejiang expanded production lines for recycled ocean nylon made from discarded fishing nets and plastic bottles. The GRS-certified fabric boasts identical tensile and chlorine-resistant performance as imported counterparts. Driven by surging overseas orders of swimwear and sun-proof clothes, domestic recycled nylon purchase price drops by 11% year-on-year. Brands including lululemon and local swimwear manufacturers are shifting sourcing from imported materials. Export volume of recycled nylon fabric jumps 38.6% YoY in H1, with functional aquatic sportswear dominating downstream consumption.
